‘The Rangeland Derby Rockstar’ took centre stage Saturday night at the Calgary Stampede.
Chanse Vigen was, indeed, rockin’ and rollin’ to win Night 2 of the Cowboys Rangeland Derby on a warm Saturday night at GMC Stadium.
It was a very competitive night of racing with racetrack conditions being very good, and when the sun went down on Calgary, Vigen — driving the KMA Construction & KMA Scaffolding Services outfit — took the day-money with a run of 1:11.76.

From Barrel No. 1 in the eighth heat, Vigen was the top wagon on the night by just 5/100ths of a second over Jason Glass. Rae Croteau Jr. placed third, followed by Day 1-winner Chad Fike and Doug Irvine filling out the top five on the night.

Former Calgary Stampede champion Jason Glass now sits atop the leaderboard in the overall aggregate standings with a two-day total of 2:23.39.
That puts him 52 one-hundredths of a second ahead of Fike. World points leader Croteau is hanging on to third place overall.
The day-money run moved Vigen moved up into fourth place overall — 64/100ths of a second out of third hole, with 2024 Grande Prairie Stompede champion Jamie Laboucane rounding out the top-five overall after seven nights.
